Australian miner Sandfire Resources is maintaining its FY22 guidance despite a decline in Sept qtr (Q1) production at its DeGrussa operations in WA to 15,946t copper and 7,515oz gold, from 18,252t Cu and 9,016oz Au in the previous period. C1 costs rose to $US1.13/lb (Q4FY21: $0.93/lb).
FY22 guidance remains 64,000-68,000t Cu and 30,000-34,000oz Au at $1-1.10/lb.
While construction activities continued to ramp up at its Motheo copper gold in Botswana, MD-CEO Karl Simich says its $1.865B acquisition of the world-class, long-life MATSA copper complex in Spain will propel Sandfire into a leading global base metals producer.
