Australian-based miner West African Resources is targeting first gold production in mid-2025 from its second mine after completing a positive PFS on the 90%-owned Kaika project in Burkina Faso.
The study outlined average production of 219,000ozpa over the 18.5 years of the mine's life, including an initial five years of 233,000ozpa at AISC of $US953/oz.
Kiaka is 45km S of WAF's existing Sanbrado mine, which is on track to deliver 220,000-240,000oz at $1,040-1,100/oz in FY2022.
